1969 Mustang L-Code

This is where I will keep record of my restomod of a 1969 Mustang Sportsroof (fastback). Originally this car was an Acapulco Blue 250ci Inline 6.

It's my intention not to restore this car factory original, but rather to repair the body and bring her a little more up to date, allowing her to become my eventual daily driver.

This first page (I'll add more as things progress) are the pre-purchase photos. Most of the rust is surface. Though the floor pans, and trunk are both certainly on the complete replacement list. Whoever else owned it along the way welded in some connectors, maybe with intention of making it a track car. I'll probably keep those. They've cleaned up pretty well. There are a lot of little rust punch-throughs that I'll cut out and weld patch replacement metal, instead of going out and buying an entirely new panel. She'll clean up nicely, and the parts that won't, well, they go on the shopping list. Mustangs are one of those cars where parts are so readily availble for restoration that you can practically build one entirely from scratch without ever having an actual Mustang on hand.

Though that's not to say that it isn't going to be a task, putting Humpty Dumpty back together again....
